Advantages: Good games, Low price

Disadvantages: No new games, Not so great graphics, No DVD player

The Nintendo Gamecube hasn't had any games released for it for a while so it can basically be described as dead due to the release of the Wii. I am reviewing it now because you can pick up used consoles for as low as twenty pounds and games for about a fiver each so if you are looking for a cheap option or a games console for a child who is not interested in any of the more modern options, then this is a good choice.

Unlike it's competitors, the Gamecube could never play DVD's which is one obvious disadvantage and possibly one of the reasons for its lack of success. It may not have had very good graphics but there are some very good games available for it, mostly available under the "Players Choice" set. This means that actually for a very low price you can start playing some fun games that may not be as graphically impressive as the current gen consoles, but will still entertain you for a few years yet.

Summary: Good if you are looking for a console on the cheap.
