Advantages: Better graphics, better machine
Disadvantages: Far worse game
The N64 really has died a death. As a console, I still believe that the N64 has one over on the playstation. It has better graphics by a mile. There are four controller ports, so there is no need for cumbersome, tangle-prone tap points, and there is more memory, and you don't need a memory card to save things. Also, you don't have to worry about Cds scrathing as there are the cartridges which are far hardier So the N64 is a superior product, and for a short time it was winning the battle of the consoles. With games such as "Banjo-Kazooie", "Goldeneye" and "Diddy-Kong Racing and other quirky Rareware games, the Nintendo lads were making quality ganes for their console, albeit slowly. After these games, only "Perfect Dark" and the only playable game of "Smash Bros." has survived in the epic game stakes in my opinion. In my opinion the fact that there haven't been the barrage of new games that the Playstation has had has been the failing of N64. Rareware had the contract for all of the James Bond games, but it was given away to an altogether more attractive machine. The playstation has games like "Tony Hawk", and other big-name games, and unfortunately all that N64 has are the stale names of Pokemon (a name that is only good for Game Boy) and Mario (an old one). Variety is also a problem. If you go into a games store such as Game or Electronics Boutique, compare the amount of games for the Playstation and for the N64. There is only a selection of platform games and beat 'em ups. The only sport games are novelty games. Not to mention the fact that the games are more expensive, as well as the machine Technically, the N64 should've won the war. It may have won a battle, but in my view the lost the war miserably. Unfortunately, I think that the Nintendo men have accepted this, as the amount of new games for the Game Boy is far greater. It's a shame, b
