Disadvantages: where are all the games?

I have owned an N64 since 1998 and have never got bored with it. It would be the greatest games console on earth if only all the games were at the same standard as goldeneye. This, was a great game.

However, the N64 has more or less dissappeared now, HMV has stopped stocking games and electronics bouique limit the display to a couple of shelves in the corner.

But why has it gone? It was a great mahine, and in my opinion surpassed the playstation in every way, although it is obvious not many people agree. Nintendo have almost halted production of games, which is stupid in my opinion because it is still their main asset in the console world. Also, people turn to the playstation beacause of the availability of copied and pirated games. This was not possible with Nintendo 64 due to it being cartridge based, and this was Nintendos only mistake.

The machine itself is very quick with no loading times, and rarely crashes. It has the ability to house 4 players simultaneously, each with a memeory card enabled. Also, it has the option of a rumble pack and memory upgrade, which the playstation does not offer.

One major disadvantage of the N64 is the offering of good games. Only Goldeneye ever really caught the eye, with the exception of perfect dark. If Nintendo had invested in better games it could have still been big today.

Its price has now plummeted, so if you're after a decent machine that has a few decent games buy it!

The N64 ain't quite dead yet, so keep playing and happy gaming!
