Advantages: Top graphics, Quick loading

Disadvantages: Expensive games, Not many games released

The N64 is deffinately one of the best games machines available. It has had problems, mainly that there have never been that many games released for it, but that doesn`t hide the simple fact that the N64 rules :-)

The console itself looks OK, and the controler is a dream to use. It looks weird, and you think to yourself "How can I ever use this controller". It`s got an analogue pad, a digital pad and more buttons than you know what to do with. Once you get past that however and actually use the pad you see the genius at work. It fits right into your hand and feels like it belongs there. The controls in games just feel utterly instinctive.

The biggest advantage that the N64 has technically over other consoles is the fact that it uses cartridges. OK this means that the games are more expensive to produce and buy, but it also means instant loading. You don`t have to sit there waiting for the CD to spin up and load everything for you to play the game, unlike the other consoles available. The graphics are aso very nice. Highly detailed, fast and smooth. OK the PS2 may be better technically, but it still looks worse than the N64 in my not so humble opinion.

The sound on the N64 is excellent as well. It seems to be almost CD quality when you hear the music, and it`s done without using a CD-Rom, which is impressive.

The biggest boon for the N64 however has got to be the games. There may not be many games available, but it has got some of the best games in history available for it. Goldeneye, Zelda64 - need I say more? These are two classic games that everyone should own.

Since the N64 has got a lot cheaper snice it`s release you`ve got no excuse for not owning one now. All I can suggest is that you go out and buy this console now!
