Why did Nintendo not go for CD Rom, for N64 ? (Nintendo N64)
Member Name: Ryu
Advantages: Very cheap to get hold off Disadvantages: Very limited games, and i mean limited
Before the 32bit era my favourate console was PC-Engine and Snes, i was dying to see the next generation machine of both consoles, The Snes had some truly excellent titles, Contra 3, Mariokart, Streetfighter 2(This is the game where i would miss school nearly all the time for), and even more great titles. When i heard the news they are not going CD because of loading times, for the new then called ultra 64, i was shocked! sega, sony are going cd and they are not. This is why Nintendo will always remember their biggest mistake in their history of games ever. They lost Square soft to sony, i could not beleive it nor did other gamers, square soft is nintendo. But still i thought let see what they can do with the N64. Mario Good, Other games crap, it had already lost. The console looks good excellent design on their joypad, 4 joystick ports, but the games, the games made the snes what it was, but sadly not for n64. The reason why its still around because of Pokemon, nothing else, sure Rare make excellent games, but is it a good reason to own a console, if you like Games like Goldeneye. Konami, Squaresoft, Capcom, Hudson, MADE the snes what it was but not for the N64, If you like a bit of Zelda AND Goldeneye etc, then go for it, but you are limited to choice. Otherwise dump it. My verdict 8/10 Summary: |
