Advantages: Some of the games are cool, better graphics.

Disadvantages: Consult my playstation review. Or read this: cartridges, kiddie games, stupid characters, inferior to PC, Pokémon.

Simple. Nintendo chose cartridges for their next-generation console for only one reason - because Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario 64, said a CD's loading times were too high for Mario 64. Bad idea.

Cartridges suck. Even in its old age, N64 carts average around £50 whereas new Playstation games are only £30 or £25. The same as an inferior game boy game! Plus, who cares about the loading times? Okay, so maybe they get annoying in the earlier games, but thanks to new optimization, there's no apparent loading in Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter and many other great games.

Catridges should stay in the past with the Mega Drive and SNES, and at least they're not using cartridges in the Dolphin. They've seen that huge games with more content and actual voices are better than no loading, which is done on the Playstation now anyway.
