Advantages: Cheap | Fun | Smart
Disadvantages: Can tire you out
We purchased our Wii in Feb 2008 after spending a few weeks trying to get hold of one from local stores.
Eventually we picked up the last one from WHSmith for £180 with Ratatouille for Free.
What's in the box?:
You get the console, along with Wii sports, 1 x nunchuck and a wii remote. and the sensor bar, along with the composite leads and power pack.
Gameplay:
The games aren't fantastic graphics, but then this isn't a HD games console. It's great fun, with games such as bowling, baseball, boxing and tennis, there's plenty to keep you busy. Within the free 'Wii Sports' game, there is a fitness area, allowing you to compete against your friends and family with tasks and challenges.
Once you've completed each challenge, you are marked on your speed, stamina, ballance and accuracy, giving you an overall fitness age. My first was 51, bearing in mind i'm 23 :/
This can be heavily addictive in it's own right, trying to bring that score down, only practise makes perfect.
The controllers:
There are two controllers to use, the wii remote, and the nunchuck. The nunchuck has a small jo stick which is designed for any games requiring you to move around the screen, whereas the wii remote is designed for aiming and motions.
Is it for kids, or adults?:
It's for both! It can be played by anyone capable of throwing their arms around the room.
Would I recommend it?:
Hell yes I would, this makes a fantastic games night, and an ideal christmas present. Will keep you and the kids busy for hours on end, and it'll keep you slightly fitter than playing any normal computer game.
Summary: Great for all the family
