Advantages: Fun for all he family
Disadvantages: None
I have never been the slightest bit interested in any games consoles up until the fateful moment when Isaw the Wii advertised. I knew with all my heart I wanted it and wuld enjoy every moment of play but I had one big problem and that was money. We were in debt and trying our hardest to get out of it so buying one of these was definately out of the question. For months I pined for this computer and jumped at the chance when someone offered me a play on theres. Eventually when we became debt free last month my hubby decided that it would be a good idea to buy us one so with our first month of savings we ended up gettting one!!!! Hurray!!!
The Wii is in my opinion, one of the best games consoles ever (so far!). Most of the games are pretty inractive and encourage you to get off your butt and move around a bit in the hope that we lose a few calories whilst enjoying ourselves.
Our console cost us £239 including the Wii Fit which was the cheapest we could find on the internet. It was very easy to set up although I have to say m hubby did that part as I was too busy having a look at the games we bought. I did watch him do it and he basically plugged a few leads into the back of the TV.
The actual console is very easy to use. It has a power button to switch it on and off. Underneath this is a reset button button and then further down is an eject button. I personally like the fact that it's very simple because when it comes to computers I have very simple!
When we unpacked the box and read the manual, it instructed us to put a sensory bar on the top or bottom of the TV. This picks up the sensor on the remote.
The Wii came with one remote and it cost us a further £29.99 to pick up another ne which seems a bit steep to me but to be honest it's not much fun playing tennis against the computer. It also came with one game which was Wii sports. This game is really good and we have had endless fun playing bowling and knocking each other to pieces on the boxing. It's very simple and easy to play so it's a good starter game.
There are tonnes of extra's that you buy for the Wii including steering wheels, balance board which makes the console a lot more fun although it's not all essential.
We have had so much fun with the Wii so far and I know that we will definately get our moneys worth. It's such a good console to play when we have friends around and even my mum can play it. It's so easy to use and great fun for all ages. It gets you moving and being a bit active and there are tonnes of interesting games to choose from tha will appeal to all types of people. Nintendo have really outdone themselves with this one so go and buy one now before they go up in price! (I read in the paper that they will go up by £20 at the end of this month!)
Summary: A brillient games console.

- 24/03/09 ps Its my opinion and although I am usually open to critism I just don't think there was any need to say this. |

- 24/03/09 Oh for crying out loud is there any need to be so picky!!! Its not like Ive lived my life not ever playing on a Games console or watching one being played. They just dont hold my interest for very long whereas the Wii is much interactive and in my opinion is revolutionary. |
