Advantages: Small, Fun, Easy To Use.

Disadvantages: Nothing.

After wanting a Wii since it came out, I finally brought one a couple of days ago after seeing it on a good deal in HMV.

~ Nintendo Wii ~
-------------------------
The Wii is a small games console that stands or lays flat. You use a wireless controller and instead of sitting down like you do with PS or X-box you actually stand up and use your arms.
A sensor sits above your T.V and it picks up the movements you make with your arms. It does this because, the controller has built in accelerometers and infrared so when you hit a baseball while playing the on the Wii the accelerometers and infrared sends your movements to the LEDs in the sensor bar, which then sends your reaction onto the game you are playing.
As the Wii controller is wireless it connects to the Wii via bluetooth, you can connect up to 4 controllers.
The Wii is a white box and has blue lights around the disc slot, and as I have said you can stand it up on a stand or lay it flat.

~ My Opinion ~
-----------------------
I have really enjoyed playing on my Wii so far, and I have come across no disapointments as of yet.
Setting the Wii up was very simple, I didn't bother looking at the instructions. It took no longer than 10 minutes with just one person doing it. If you have never had a games console before you may want to look at the instructions as there are a few different cables, if I didn't have a PS2 I probably wouldn't have know what to do.
After setting it up I turnt it straight on, the blue lights around the disc slot lite up and it looked pretty cool. You have to fill a few things in on the Wii the first time you turn it on, the date, time etc.. this takes about 1 minute. Then quickly it loads onto the main homepage.
On the homepage is the game that you have in the console, Mii, photo gallery, weather, Wii shop channel, News channel and internet.

The photo gallery I have not used, but you just follow the instructions and to get photos onto your Wii just pop an SD card into the front of your Wii, take the panel under the on/off switch off.

Mii is where you create your self basically and when you play games you can use your own character, this is quite a fun thing to do.

Weather - you can choose your own location and save that, also browse the world with the virtual globe. Really handy if you want to check the 5 day forcast in your region and don't have time to look on the internet or don't like teletext!

News - You can view the UK, World, Science, Lifestyle, People all sorts on there just choose the catagory. It has all the lastest headlines and will give you a short sentence then you can decided if you want to read the rest.
I don't use the News channel as I'm not that into it. But simple to use!

Internet- I didn't realise the Wii had the Internet and I was quite excited to set it up. I connected my Wii to my wireless connection and updated what I needed to, fairly simple but I did have to read the instructions.
Unfortunatly you have to pay 500 Nintendo Points to download the rest, which made me feel disapointed. But at the end of the day I brought my Wii for the games.
I have been playing on Wii Sports and it's great fun even on your own, as you can improve your skills and see what age your Wii fitness is!
Playing two player is good as you can get competative. Just be careful you don't get a smack around the head by the other player!
I have found the Wii great for me as I never do excerise because I am busy or just can't be bothered so this gets me off my bum, and the other day I got so into the game I was bouncing all over the place, I think I was playing tennis. It is a fun way to enjoy a little bit of exercise, it isn't alot of exercise though! Nothing like running or the gym!

~ Whats In The Box? ~
------------------------------
When you buy just the standerd Wii it will come with the Wii console, Wii controller, Numbchuck Controller (connects onto the main controller only needed for a few games), Stand for the Wii, Sensor Bar and sticky tabs if you have a flat screen, all the cables you will need, Instruction booklet, Wii Sports game, Nintendo Details & 2 AA batterys for you controller.
The box is plain yet eye-catching and when you open it, it has two seperate boxes labelled 1 & 2, this is great because all the parts are not mushed together and all in there own compartment.

You can also get Wii bundles which vary widley. The bundles include extras like, the Wii + 1 game, The Wii + 1 Game + Controller, The Wii + 2 Games + Accessory Pack Etc...

~ Prices & Where To Get It? ~
----------------------------------------
I have been looking around for a Wii & the best price for a while and prices seem to differ where ever you look.
A Wii will cost around: £176-179.99
From HMV, Argos, Game, Amazon, Currys, Gamestation and many more places.
Wii Bundles again will vary in price alot.
I brought A Wii + Wii Play Game + 1 extra controller bundle from HMV for £176.16, which is the best deal I have seen! It also comes with 1 year free garentee but you have to ring Nintendo first if anything goes wrong.

You can get alot of Games for the Wii now and also accessories.
Games are from £20-£40, quite pricey so something to shop around for, for the best price.

Overall I love the Wii and it has overtaken the Playstation.
Very easy to use and so much fun for all the family to play on, apart from small ones as it would be difficult for them.
It's great batterys come with the package, but these will run out so I will buy rechargeable batterys soon!
5*'s from me, I will update if anything changes my mind on the product!

Summary: Wiiiiiiiiii

My son bought me one for my birthday last year and I still love it, always seems to be out when I have people round and everyone really enjoys playing on it, no matter what their age. Great review, thanks. x
