Get an Xbox 360 or PS3 instead (Nintendo Wii)

Advantages: The motion sensor aspect is great

Disadvantages: Not great fun if you're playing on your own

It's difficult to say what you really think about the Wii...

On one hand the motion-sensor aspect is great - being able to point your wiimote at the TV and shoot things on screen (ie, Resident Evil 4) is great, as is having your golf swing replicated (Tiger Woods 09, Wii Sports). But after a while, the novelty wears off.

I'm used to playing on what I'd call "proper" console - Playstation, Xbox etc and to me, playing on the Wii just doesn't feel quite right. Sure there are some great games (mentioned above), but there's also quite a lot of rubbish ones too. To me, the Wii is more of a console that's aimed at kids, girls or casual gamers, but if my fiancée is anything to go by, the novelty will soon wear off for them too.

It's not a bad little box to have in your living room and it is good fun to play with some mates (preferably after a few beers!), but the one-player experience is somewhat lacking. If I had the choice between this and my Xbox or a PS3, I'd go with one of the latter options.
