Advantages: Pick-up and play multi-player fun.

Disadvantages: Take time to review the games you buy.

I'm not a big "gaming" fan; I like simple pick-up and play games. The Nintendo Wii ~ is a great family console; if you want something EVERYONE can enjoy - the Nintendo Wii is a good choice.

Everyone from my little boy, to my parents play on it. You control the games with the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk ~ motion sensor; makes it playable for all ages. The basic console only comes with one Nunchuk and Remote - so you'll need buy another one. We got the Wii Play remote package, it comes with a free game Wii Play (again, basic game - but fun).

We've had our Wii for about 18 months now - and Wii Sports (the game it comes with) is still a firm favourite.

I only have good things to say about the console.

However, there are a lot of rubbish games (a friend told me this when we first got ours) ~ so my advice would be review/research games before you buy them.

Keep-in-mind that the Nintendo Wii is best played in groups - and most fun is to be had on multi-player games.

Also worth mentioning, it is quick/easy and free to get online.

Nintendo Wii - highly recommended family console! ...if you're looking at getting something for a teenager to hide away in their bedroom with - then look for another console.

Summary: Best console on the market that all the family can enjoy; just be wise on which games you choose.
