Advantages: Great for keeping fit

Disadvantages: Too addictive!

Nintendo Wii is a brilliant new technology for playing games. It is very different from the original game consoles like the Game Cube, Game Boy and DS. It is a great way to keep fit and is for all ages.

The Nintendo Wii is played on a television and should be in a big-ish room so there is space to move about. There is a sensor on top of the screen you play it on and you must stand up and move while holding the controllers for it to work. For example, for boxing you need to punch or for driving you act as if you are steering a wheel.

You can play against other players in different parts of your town by connecting to the internet or using a Wii friend code to connect to their Wii at home. You can play up to four players at one time. There is an extra controller that you can use for games like boxing and tanks that will help you move. You can get a free one of these with the Wii Play game.

On the Mii channel you can create and play around with cartoon versions of yourself and everyone that wants to play. You can even make Mii's that don't exist!

There are millions of games to play; all types of sports, quiz shows and even dance and sing along games.

My personal favourite games would have to be Mario Kart, Wii Sports, Wii Play and High School Musical Sing Along.

To give more feedback on the review itself - the Wii in itself is not a great way of keeping fit - the Wii Fit game is a separate thing. You haven't really said anything about how the controller works - the nunchuk etc. You haven't said anything about who the console is aimed at, graphics (obviously the Wii is not a console for people who are really interested in good graphics as they're very simple), cost. Hope this is useful. MaryX PS. The line "You can even make Mii's that don't exist! " doesn't make a great deal of sense!
