Advantages: A brilliant way to get fit

Disadvantages: Games get a little repetitive and you could spend £30+ per month for new ones

I've purchased 2 Wii's now, the first for my soon to be ex-wife's children (and my 5 year old daughter) 2 Christmas's ago - from Argos for approx £200. Yes, at the time Wii's were like gold dust, and probably harder to find.

The second one I bought for my partners daughter (and mine when she's around) this Christmas.

It's a great machine and it didn't take me long to become a golf, boxing and bowling pro. It took a lot longer with baseball, and I'm afraid tennis certainly isn't a game I enjoy. Yes, the Wii comes with Wii Sports, which has 5 games, and a number of training exercises to help, and a fitness programme which can be played once a day where you can prove you're younger than 80, but like me older than 20! Boy, the boxing matches are exhausting particularly with the num chuck in one hand and the main remote in the other.

Unlike other consoles the controller (remote) for this is very easy, and there are a lot of optional cases that it can be fitted into - such as a steering wheel, golf club and tennis raquet. It is certainly an exhausting game and one that needs a lot of space to play - and to avoid the occassional mishap of hitting your family!

You must realise though that this is not a console for the serious gamers, but games are fun. They do however, get a little repetitive and after a little while you'll need to head down the shops and buy another game - normally between £20-£35.

This is certainly a great console for kids and less serious gamers and one which I definitely recommend. Other games that you might like to try are Mario Kart and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics.

Summary: A great way to a healthier life
