Wii really really love this console! (Nintendo Wii)

If you are only going to buy one console I think you have to make it the nintendo wii. Now I'm not usually a console addict but I love this so much it's like a second child lol.

You can buy it absolutely everywhere usually except around Christmas it seems (unless you buy it early!) for around £179 or more if you buy a bundle deal with a game or two. It comes with wii sports and a controller to get you started. We bought it with just wii sports and got a cheap deal on wii play to get the extra controller as well.

It's really easy to set up even I can do it. The only thing to make sure is you put the receiver in the right place in front of the tv (or on top of it) so your movements are accurate. The console can either be placed flat on a surface or if you haven't got much room on your shelf then it can be placed on its side in the holder that comes with it. I have it sideways to save space and it looks better that way I think (such a girly comment).

Once you're set up then you have to design your mii. This is the character that will be used as you in every game you also get to name it. This can take as little or long time as you like. I took ages and nearly drove my husband insane.

The games are amazing. More so because of the fact you physically swing and move with the controller in your hand. To introduce you to the wii the best game to start with is the sports it comes with. Bowling is my favourite but you can't beat tennis for some healthy competition. I have yet to watch anyone play who doesn't shove the other player out of the way to get more room. Another tip stand in front of people doing the boxing the faces they pull are hilarious.

There are various attachments you can get to increase your enjoyment. The nunchuks are great. they clip into your controller and mean you can use both hands. If you don't have a nunchuk I think it detracts a bit from the games. There is a sports pack with tennis racket, baseball bat etc. you can get but I don't think these add anything except give you a bit more space if you are playing next to someone as they clip on the end of your controller lol. I was sad and bought my hubby a "gun" to clip his controller into to use with a game I bought him. But you can play the games as well without any of these.

The wii fit board is another genius move. I love it. I love the game and the fact I have an expensive accurate set of scales (which is why I don't do the body test much lol).

This console is excellent and you can play old nintendo game cube games on it and plug those controllers in. I wish you could use the wii controller on those games but you can't have everything.

The safety warnings they provide are right. I have known someone cut themselves on a light fitting be so intent on winning the point they didn't care and sprayed blood over the walls. They did win the set though so it was worth it ;-)
