Advantages: Intuitive & Unique game controls. Cheap price. Fun for all the family.

Disadvantages: Extra controllers are pretty expensive. You might get injured playing it!

Nintendo as ever at at the technological forefront of Games Console technology. With that in mind they have come up with the Wii. A games console with motion sensitive remotes for realistic gameplay. But, should you buy it & how does it compare against it's competitors.

Firstly the Nintendo Wii is possibly the most fun to play of the current generation of consoles. PS3 & Xbox 360 both have full High Definition graphics & more powerful games processors. But when your swinging your remote through the air, trying to knock out your opponent or score a strike, I guarantee that you won't be thinking about where or not the graphics are High Definition.

There are a variety of games available. Lots of which are available on all three systems. I would say that Wii however has the best range of games that are only available for that console. Like Say Wii-Fit or Mario Kart.

The Wii is Wi-Fi enabled meaning you can connect to a wireless network without any add ons. You can they play games online against the world at no extra cost (with the exception of your Broadband Fee). This is an advantage over the Xbox 360 as that is not Wi-Fi enabled. Will cost £40-£50 to become so & you have to pay a monthly subscription for online gaming. Mario Kart online is possibly the most fun game that I have played online.

It's only slight downfall is the cost of additional controllers. £30 for a remote £15 for a nunchak. £45 for both. If you want 4 players that's another £135 for the 3 additional controllers. Then there is the new Wii motion plus. That's £15 too. If everyone needs one of them, that's another £60.

Over all, for the Price of £179.99 I really can't say much against it. It is a different machine to the other 2 consoles out & you could well decide to get this & one of the others (PS3 is better, see my review of both of the others). I will say this. This is great fun. Easy to use, even for small children & a great addition to the wolrd of gaming.

Summary: Arguably the most fun console, if not the best. Have a go on one.
