Nintendo Wii console (Nintendo Wii)
Member Name: tanyatigerlily
Advantages: Compact and easy to set up Disadvantages: Extra cost to use online capability
I have never been a fan of any computer games or games consoles, but the Wii has made quite an impression on me. I originally decided to buy one as I had heard about Wii fit and, like so many other women out there, simply do not have enough hours in the day to fit in a session at the gym. After reading a few reviews I decided to buy the Wii console with 2 fitness games (My Fitness Coach and Active Personal Trainer) instead of Wii Fit. Luckily I have a handy husband who set up the Wii console for me. It was easy to set up and use. We quickly figured out how to use the Wii remotes and Nunchucks, and started off by trying out the Wii Sports. We have never looked back and have hours of fun exercising and playing various other games. We use the Wii at least 5 days out of every 7! The Wii console's slim design makes it easy to fit into a small space under the television. It is robust, but can be a bit noisy occasionally when the disc is spinning. There are ports for older Nintendo controllers, should you want to use them. One surprise is that the internet connection is USB, not a standard LAN port. Hence, none of my existing internet cables work. Nintendo do offer a USB WiFi Access Point to enable internet connection at around £30. Summary: A great family games console |
