A fun console for the whole family (Nintendo Wii)

The Nintendo Wii is a brilliant piece of gameplay hardware, one of the best on the market in my own opinion. The console allows the players to become interactive within the game itself allowing users to create real-life movements represented on the game with similar movements.

I purchased my Wii Console about 12 months ago and have not been disappointed, the standard console comes with a game pack called 'Wii sports' which is a compilation of games (Golf, bowling, boxing, tennis and baseball) which makes the most out of the Wii setup, and these included games are fantastic fun.

The included Wii remote is used as an interactive gaming device, which contains accelerometers that can detect the orientation and movement of the remote, thus allowing it to imitate the movement of a golf club when swung in the correct motion or a baseball bat or even pointed at the screen and used as a gun for 1st person shoot'em up games.

The remote uses bluetooth technology to allow the signal not to be subject to "line of sight" limitations as well as allowing multiple handsets to be used wirelessly simltaneously with confussion.

The graphics on the Wii are not fantastic especially compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 but this is no issue as the Wii is an interactive gaming experience and was never ment to compete with these other consoles.

The games that are available are not always as abundant as the competitors and there tends to be a delay in the release times of some of the more popular game titles compared to the PS3 and Xbox, but once available I believe are more fun. For example, Medal of Honour utilises the Wii remote as a gun, an with the additional gun holders creates a completly different gaming experience from other consoles.

Overall this console is unique, fun and great for the whole familiy to become involved, it can also improve fitness levels and co-ordination especially with the Wii fit extras which can be purchased.
