Advantages: fun, gets you moving
Disadvantages: better with more then one player
I don't own one myself I borrow my mums as I didn't want to fork out for one and not like it like alot of people did when these first came out.
Personal experience:
I personally don't think I will be buying one anytime soon as I don't have the time to play it.
Its great if your a family or a couple or have friends round a lot and have the time to play with it as its definetly a more then one player game and gets addictive when you are playing with others!
I found it a bit boring when on my own but with another person or more you can have a lot of laughs and fun on this (so get one for Christmas instead of boring board games this will go down alot better!)
The wii sports game you get with the console is great and I think one of the best games you can get for the wii. It has baseball-which is quite hard- bowling-very fun- tennis-very funny to play with others and golf. You can have up to 4 players on it I think(or more) or just the one. You can create your own mii so you have someone that looks like you and all my family have managed to get one exactly like them its scary sometimes! Also on the wii sports there is a training section that has each of the games and little tasks you have to complete all 4 and then you get your results which will tell you an age and some other things-for fun more but quite hard!
We have also tried some of the other games -beach sports, Olympic games and Mario kart on it but i didn't find these as fun as wii sports. The accessories you can buy for it are good value for mony but you don't actually need them you can just use your remote but I suppose using a stearing wheel for playing Mario Kart would make it more realistic and fun.
Price:
When they fist came out you were looking at close to £200 for one but they have dropped alot in price now- approx £150 for just the console but most stores sell as part of a package deal where you get extra games/accessories but these work out at £200+. (But still the cheapest out all 3 new consoles)
Product:
The console is very slimline so fits nicely on shelves next to the tv etc-it is also not ugly looking like some! White in colour but also available in black now. Easy to wire up and connect everything just have to be careful with the wireless bit that sits on top of my tv the wire is very long and has a tendancy to fall off and people tripping over it- without this on show though the remotes dont work. The console also comes with a stand that it slots into as it is quite heavy it does fall and someone told me they shouldnt be lay down hence the reason they provide a stand with it. Comes nicely boxed up in a 2 layer box which they have nicely put pictures on the layers to tell you what goes where.]
Comes with all wires needed, one remote and nunchuck and wii sports game.
All in all a great game for two or more people to play at once but not one for playing alone.
Summary: good invention but i tihnk you need more then 1 person to have more fun
