We've had our Wii for about 5 years and still love it! Our house is always full so if there's nothing to watch on TV we all end up playing the Wii!
Create your own Mii character! This is great fun to do. We created a whole bunch of random celebrity characters for guests to play as, rather than spend time creating one that looks like them.
The controllers are so easy to use, with minimal button usage, mainly to just navigate the menus. The motion sensor controllers are lightweight and comfortable to hold, suitable for most sized hands.
If you're looking for simple fun for everyone to join in, the Wii Sports games are brilliant. Baseball, bowling, tennis and golf are all addictive, especially if you have some healthy competition amongst your group. Every Christmas my nan (who is 86!) always wants to play Wii Bowling!
There are plenty of other games on the Wii, some with similar multiplayer modes to Wii Sports. Best thing to do is see if anyone you know has any games you could borrow to see if you like them. Alternatively, you can buy preowned games from most high street stores now at a fraction of the price.
The price for this console may seem steep, but it's well worth it. You can download "channels" for things like you tube and TV channels, so you can watch through the Wii on your TV.
Summary: I guarantee you will not regret purchasing one!
