Having foolishly forked out £350 for a playstation 2 right on its day of general release to the public, I thought possibly it wasnt worth the money....how desperately wrong I was. I stopped, I thought, and I realised. £350 for a DVD player and top of the range console is not too shabby at all. It saves valuable space in your tiny rooms (in my case) and can even stand on its side easily, fantastic stuff. True at first the games were few and far between, but I anticipated some huge titles to come out beforehand. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is what I have been waiting for all my life. I am a huge fan of THPS2 (as you may or may not have read) and I am desperately awaiting the arrival of the 3rd edition of this skateboarding classic.

What else? Gran Turismo 3, yes yes yes I bought this yesterday and it amazes me. Stunning graphics, tonnes of amazing cars and plenty of courses. Metal Gear Solid 2 is another release I am hugely anticipating. The first game was a living legend in its time. Accepted among games players as one of the most awe inspiring games to have hit the market, and I have heard nothing but good things for the sequal.

So the PS2, was it worth the money? So far yes, I have a good collection of DVD's which outnumber my games. So what? I still have over 40 Playstation games to play on for now (which is a great feature of the PS2). I have yet to try its online gaming options, infact I have no idea what its all about, but it sounds an exciting prospect. The future of consoles is exciting and I for one will be sticking with Sony.

Games on CD's eh, I better we never saw that coming....and now it's here, I cant get enough of it. If I had to pay £350 again, I would. The future is bright, the future is the Station...
