Advantages: Brilliant DVD, Brilliant Console, Brilliant Modem (so I've heard)

Disadvantages: Pricey- ish

The playstation 2, what a contreversial subject it has the country in a shock of aww, but is it to expensive for what you get.

The playstation 2 is a new games console that includes DVD and Magic Gate technology (which, I might add, is something to look out for in new coming consoles) making it one of the most powerful consoles around.

I think this is brilliant for a console because the graphics are amazing and the speed. The loading time can be a drag, but with most games modernising, the difference is huge.

Its only down point is its extraordinary cost which is at the moment I think is £250. I bought it when it was £300. (Almost enough to buy a Voltswagon...from ASDA!)

On the whole the cost does dig a little too deep down into pockets, (espeacially for the age-group targetted), yet the overall quality of the games, gameplay and realism really does put in on top of the console charts.

A scart socket is essential to run a Playstation2, and a built in modem is also included. The modem is of good speed, I've heard, because I surf from my computer, so I don't know.

The DVD drive is highly useful, and creates the ultimate entertainment system ever. (for £300, anyway.)

SU because of the innacurate info and lack of detail:

* PS2 doesn't have a built-in modem.
* The price is still 300 quid. Do a bit of research rather than just an "I think"
* You don't say why a scart socket is essential. In fact you imply the PS2 won't run without one! (of course it will)
* What the fudge is "Magic Gate" technology? You havin' a larf??
