PS2 - Still the system to buy! (Sony Playstation 2)

I have been a console gaming nut for years. I'm so bad that when I turn mine on, my wife goes in the other room. She knows that I'll be playing for hours on end... on my Sony Playstation 2.
Sony has been the catalyst in the console wars. They set the bar for existing consoles as well as new comers. Heck, Sony even took out the hardware piece of a once powerful Sega franchise. To not know whether or not to buy one, is to not have had any experience with this console at all.
It's like this. If you're trying to decide to buy the PS2, then consider these points. First, the name. Sony has been in the industry longer than anyone except Nintendo. Sony set the bar for everyone to come up to. Even Nintendo had to go back to the board. Second, versatility of games. Sony has something for everyone, children, adults, sports, board games, old school console, role playing games, platformers, etc. Third, DVD compatability. How many households have a game system console and a dvd player? Now you can have both for less than the price of seperate purchases. Fourth, on-line fun for everyone. Go on-line and duke it out with players all around the world or friends you know. Finally, there are still over 40 million Playstation one's out there. How many first generation Nintendos or Sega Genisis's are still out there... without dust on them?
It only makes sense. Nintendo is just getting in the ring with the PS2 and trying to lose the, " children only" image. X-Box is just getting into the ring for the first time. Can it truely stand the test of time... can you say, Sega Dreamcast?
