I've owned a 360 for over 2 years now and recently bought an 80GB PS3. The main reason I decided to buy one was for Blu-Ray. Instead of getting a standalone player, you may as well pay a little more... for a lot more.

The PS3 is a great entertainment system. You can watch Blu Ray movies, upscaled DVDs, play PS3 games and exclusives, browse the internet, play online and more. As a whole package, I prefer it to my 360 but as a gaming machine only I would have to say the 360, mainly due to Xbox Live.

What I was most impressed with was all the extras that come with the PS3; rechargeable batteries built in the controllers, built in WiFi, upgradable HDD, web browser etc. You literally just have to plug it in and you're good to go. The only thing missing which I think should be added to future console packages is a headset. The controller took me a while to get used to and I definitely prefer the 360 one, due to the analog sticks but it's nothing major.

Overall, the PS3 is a brilliant machine. It's reliable and a great alternative to buying a standalone blu ray player.
