Playstation 3 Review
For years now, Nintendo and more recently Microsoft have been at war with Sony, and the battle comes to a head each year at E3; who has created the best games console? After using all 3 of the current generation machines, I can say with confidence that the PS3 is easily the best of the lot.
Let's start with the most important part of the PS3, which is undoubtedly the Blu-Ray drive. Without it, I can say with some real surety that both the Playstation and the Blu-Ray movie format would both be dead. Luckily, however, they teamed up and they are a match made in gaming (and film-watching) heaven. The discs can store far more graphical content than the 360 DVD equivalent, resulting on gaming that will be much easier on the eyes in the coming years when the PS3 exclusive developers break away from the current multi-platform norm.
The online service is also very good. It's not as good as Xbox Live, but you don't pay for it so you can't expect it to be. That being said, it really isn't that far off, especially with the recent updates. The Playstation Store is chock full of content for well over half of the games on the market, and downloading and installing add-ons is pain free.
The current amount of games on the market for the PS3 can't compete with the 360 (mainly because the Xbox has been on sale for around a year and a half longer), however this is likely to change very soon as developers are starting to realize that there is far more potential because of the superior processing power and Blu-Ray compatibility.
I'm having to cut this short, however I think I've made my point quite clear; if you are thinking about the future of gaming, get a PS3. It's the superior machine. Simple. 9/10.
Summary: Far more potential because of the superior processing power and Blu-Ray compatibility.
