Advantages: Sleek, high end, multimedia, blu ray and gaming console.

Disadvantages: High end price

The Playstation 3 80GB is the most stable playstation out of the range available so far, as lower and higher memory models have got bugs such as; over-heating, regular crashing and loss of internet connectivity.

It has a black futuristic design, with a high gloss finish showing that Sony have thought long and hard about it's looks and have adapted it to the fast changing pace of technology. It looks extremely well placed surrounded by high specification flatscreens and surround sound systems.

The Playstation 3 80GB has seven processors compared to the Xbox 360's four. This makes gaming a lot smoother, faster, and more reliable process. The Playstation is built to a higher standard and is more reliable; for example if the Playstation crashes you simply reset it whereas on other consoles you would have to send in away.

Upon start-up you are presented with an intelligent human interface system and a very easy to navigate menu. You can add more users to the system so one Playstation will suffice. You can customise and change your settings and set up an internet connection. You can download pictures, music, videos and TV programmes from your computer and BBC iPlayer to the Playstation. There is a Game Softwares tab where you can view the trophies you have collected, view the games you have downloaded and play the game or blu ray disc you have inserted. There is a Playstation Network Tab where you can go onto the online store and download new softwares, games and view previous games you have previously purchased. Finally there is a Friends and Mail Tab where you can mail your friends, add new friends and meet people online.

There are a wide variety of games, Blu Ray DVD's and Accessories you can buy for the console. Games can be designed on the playstation 3 at the full HD of 1080 dpi. The specification for the Playstation 3 is high and as you can expect game play benefits from this greatly as does the impressive picture quality of blu ray DVD. The controllers are specifically designed to fit snugly into your hand giving you maximum control while you are immersed in your games. You can buy various accessories such as microphones, headsets, docking stations, etc.
Accessories can enhance your gaming experience and make you more involved in the game or Blu Ray DVD.

My overall opinion is that the Playstation 3 console is superior to the other multimedia consoles on the market. I highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a high end gaming console that does almost everything.

Summary: A bit pricey but it pays for this kind of style
