Advantages: Great screen quality

Disadvantages: Joystick can mess up

I have owned the PSP ever since it was first released and it is so useful. It is one of the best gadgets that I have ever used. Originally designed as a portable games console, it is much more than that. The PSP has more features unlike its original rivals such as the Game Boy.

It is based on the success of the playstation and it's successor the playstation 2 but with a built in screen and much more portable. There is a huge range of games that you can buy to play on this console.

We see the return of the D-pad and the 4 standard playstation buttons along with top R and L buttons. Also there is a analogue stick under the D-pad for more accurate control. However after much use this joystick gets stuck and sticks to one position.

The PSP has other features including a MP3 player, Picture viewer which works superbly. I have never seen a better quality view of pictures ever then on the PSP screen. It is so clear. The PSP can also playback videos and movies but they have to be converted to MPEG-4 format first. The PSP can be connected to the internet through WIFI to access many web pages, msn and even listen to the internet radio.

The wireless connection allows two PSP users to connect to each other and play against each other if they both have the same game. You can also download old playstation and smaller games off the Playstation Network at a slight cost.

The PSP sits comfortably within the palms of your hands when you are holding it. It is very simple to use. The PSP has a memory card slot that supports Memory Stick Duo cards with up to 8GB capacity. I have used this to store movies, music and photos and thus use my PSP as a portable entertainment system.

The PSP comes with a rechargeable battery which can last for up to 4 hours non- stop gaming.

This is a very useful product, I would highly recommend this product, The prices have dropped since they were first released but you can get one brand new for around £129.99 which is totally worth it if you spend hundreds of hours using it like I have.

Summary: It'l keep the children quiet

I think I'll wait and see how the new upcoming PSP works out and if there are any better titles out before I consider this system. Great review!

I almost bought it just to have a handheld version of Football manager, but will stick with my DS in the forlorn hope that I'll see a footie sim on there some day 8^)
