Humax PVR 9200T ... bought the PVR 9200T, essentially, as it had been recommended by The Gadget Show on Five (who generally know what they re talking about). Unfortunately though, the box hasn t quite lived up to its reputation. First, the good points. The picture quality is actually very good. I think it s noticeably better than my Digifusion box, and actually as good as the inbuilt tuner in my Sony TV. The remote is of a good quality and is very easy to use. Everything is sort of logically laid out, and it feels like it s been built to last. There s a handy USB port in the front which allows you to copy the recorded programs onto your computer. Pace TDT 460 Twin Digital TV Recorder ... ve had this product for some time now, and although it doesn t have the featureset of some modern Freeview PVRs, like series link for example, it has kept up quite well considering its age. As a Freeview tuner it works well, and was particularly good in handling weak signals. However, low signals are its downfall when it comes to recording - as they often fail, which is very annoying. The twin tuner is a useful feature, allowing you to watch and record at the same time, or using the RF loopthrough, pump the second Freeview tuner to other TVs in the house, useful if you don t have digital on every TV. Panasonic NV HV61EG-S ... you live in a hermetically sealed environment then this is the video recorder for you! Particularly suitable for playing newly opened videos on! We have had two of these video recorders and would not recommend it. It has some good features, such as jet rewind and smart recording based on what you have recorded in the past. However the first one broke down relatively soon and we returned it for a refund. Thinking this was just unluckly and as we were happy with its features we bought another one the same.
