Hitachi VTFX940:
... purchased this item may 2001, It was a typical cheap vcr and nothing write home about. on the 20th Sept 2002 the Captsan motor seized solid and after basic investigation we found that it would cost more to repair than to replace. As we purchased the item with visa - we took avantage of the visa warranty, there seemed to be a screw-up with documentation and because of the cost of repair Visa seaid they'd rep... Matsui VX1107A ... have been searching high and low for yet another category to sink my teeth into, and as I enjoy electronics and gadgets and like to keep abreast of the times, I am very conversant with up to date technology. As an aside, I must say that these mobile phone thingies must be the invention of the year! Anyway, in my role as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages at the Comprehensive School of St Dunstan the Aggressive in the cathedral city of the Flatlands (name changed to protect the innocent!), I get to use various pieces of audio-visual equipment, and this is where my experience of using the Matsui VX1107 Hi-Fi VCR comes in. LG LV 200 ... like a bit of action in the bedroom, especially if it involves Bruce Willis. So when we changed to Digital television and Telewest said they were going to charge us £15 a month for the extra cable box in the bedroom, I was not amused. So there I was, no cable box, no aerial, just a sad television sitting useless in the corner and no boudoir action at all. It was during a particularly bad bout of insomnia that I decided to take action and get my bedroom entertainment back on track. In the middle of the night I took a trip to my local Big W (they were open 24 hours a day in December), and bought a new VCR. I walked in, found a pallet full of the cheapest video ... Samsung SV 5000 ... recently moved to the USA from the UK I was looking for a way to view my large collection of tapes. For the unenlightened, the UK broadcasts in PAL (625 lines 50Hz)while the US standard is NTSC (525 60Hz). My first thought was to buy a multistandard video and TV combination. To explain multistandard; if you put a PAL tape in a multistandard vcr it will playback and output in PAL. Similarly, an NTSC tape plays back in NTSC. This means that you also need a multistandard TV to view the resulting signal from the VCR. I did actually buy such a setup but the results, to put it mildly, were disappointing. My next move, after returning the new multistandard TV and VC... Read the full review: The mutt's nuts by ianisme |
