I've had this device for several years now.
The setup was very simple, we don't use the record on the video so the analogue tv cable was not plugged in. The rest was just a pair of scart leads and a power cable.
This best described as two separate units stuck together, the menus and operator are very separate. The dvd works simply annoyingly the fast forward means pressing the button multiple times I believe it can be multiregioned but again I haven't had the need too yet.
Picture quality from Dvds is very good and does not show any artefacts or break ups on our lg tv, it supports a wide range of standard and not so standard formats.
Sound is clear on both video formats with the multiple choice of output cables makes cabling simple for amps etc.
Videos are unsurprisingly grainy but the player does its best to clear the picture up for tv, the remote is not as annoying when using the videos as the speeds are far more limited.
Recording of dvds is supported but most don't work because of copy protection so a feature is not used very often.
The screen on the front is clear but not too bright for the room, the display gets brighter when the player is on.
The remote control feels well made and supports tvs but it doesn't work with ours.
Its quite a bulky unit but it is doing two jobs for one so its acceptable and no longer than your standard player.
