McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008 ... a long time user of ZoneAlarm I was reluctant to try anything else as I had never had any problems with ZoneAlarm until Vista came along and then the clashes started. So, having had McAfee Virus Scan Plus 2008 recommended to me I decided to give it a try and I am fairly happy that I did. The package is reasonably priced for what it is and the whole installation process is easy to follow and complete, even for complete beginners. The whole set up takes a matter of 5 - 10 minutes, not including the first full system scan and you feel like you are up and running securely after just 1 reboot. Malwarebytes Antimalware ... has got to be one of the best out there i have ever come across yet. Verry fast at updating and doing scans on you computer. Best thing about this is its also free. This will indeed detect them unwanted viruses malware spyware Trojans hijackers keylogers and many other forums of viruses that is a threat to your system. It also has a upgrade feature on it for real time protection but i have to say its not really needed. For your own security i would at least do one scan a day to be secure on your system and to also check for updates as viruses malware and other formats of virus come out every few min. Avast 4 Home Edition ... always thought that AVG was the best free home anti-virus software about, until now that is!! I have been using Avast Home edition for about 6 months now and can honestly say it knocks spots off AVG. The whole application itself seems a lot more simplistic and is easy to use. Avast is totally free for home use as they have a commercial version which they charge companies for. I think the license lasts for over a year before it stops updating the virus checker but once this runs out you can just log onto their website and download the application again and get another years absolutely free.
