Panda Antivirus Platinum 6.0 ... of all, there is a saying that goes something like this: "Fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me". At the moment, I am suffering from a SHAME ON ME... A few years back, annoyed that I kept getting viruses regardless that I was fully protected with a Symantec program, I went online in search of the top programs available on the market and came up with Panda Antivirus... so great, I purchased the product directly from their website... if I remember correctly it set me out-of-pocket approx. £40.00. Fine, I understand the importance of a good antivirus and am willing to pay for something which is downloaded off a site without being given... Panda Antivirus Platinum 6.0 ... had the Panda basic virus protection, supplied by my computer company with new hard drive. After renewing the subscription 18 months later and dowloading a newer version, a few odd things started to happen on my computer. After many phone calls to the computer comapny and then not getting any desktop icons, I took it to be looked at. It took them 3 days to figure out that the antivirus software was corrupting the computer. It worked fine when it was removed. I contacted Panda who were reluctant to admit that there had been some slight problems on earlier versions (3 weeks old!). Another version of Panda was downloaded...same thing happened. Panda Antivirus Platinum 6.0 ... ve been using this software for about three months only, so I have not had as much experience as others. However, I installed it on two different computers. First on an IBM Thinkpad, and, when I gave that one up, on a Dell Inspiron 4000. I am impressed with the quickness of the installation. It s really straightforward, even for people who are a bit thick computer-wise (like me). I ve installed lots of other software previously, anti-virus and others, and although those were easy *in theory*, I often experienced hickups in practice - something or other didn t quite work, and I had to remove and reinstall or get someone who knew more than I to do the expert setup . ...
