Zone Labs ZoneAlarm Security Suite 2007

A bit like having sex, when it comes to using the internet I know that I need adequate protection however the difference betwwen sex and internet protection is that I understand how potection in sex works whereas with internmet protection I'm totally lost.
I used to have a number of different providers, one for a firewall, the ... other for virus protection and a seperate provider for anti spyware however a couple of year ago a trojan virus got through and my whole system had to be wiped and re-loaded and then I decidd to switch to one provider ZoneAlarms.
It was easy to download the product from their website and the last two renewals have been hassle free as well, now I have firewall, anti virus and spyware software running all the time, the programme also filters for spam and viruses all incoming e-mails and blocks attempts to access my system.
I do find that it runs updates almost everytime my PC is switched on and this does make it run slower and then every so often it scans for spyware and usually cleans out quite a few bits that I pick up while surfing the net.
What I do like is that I can set the level of protection that I want on it although to be honest I tend to just follow the manufacturers recommendations however this would be useful to those a bit more technical minded than myself.
When any major updates are uploaded it does work slowly for the first few days as it gets used to the way you operate and you do get lots of alerts however these can be switched off easily enough as they are a bit annoying.
I have only needed help once and that was when an IE update caused a problem with it and the internet site and helpline solved the problem really quickly and allowed me to get my system bak up and running really quickly.
Overall I find is easy to work with for a total ignoranous like myself and from memory it was aout $38 to renew last year but I may be a little out on that price. You can getfree versions of this suite but they are not as effective and do not get the updates.

This is by far the best piece of security software I have used on my computer. Everything you need to protect yourself is available.
The package includes a firewall, anti-spyware, anti-virus and privacy features.
All of this is easily accessible from the easily navigatable interface.
The basic features ... mentioned above can be used by anyone from beginner to experienced user. There are also advanced functions if you are trying to do something specific involving ports, etc
The firewall is esay to use with 3 different levels of security. It also has a learn mode, so when you first install it, it will learn the best setting for you. If someone or something suspicious tries to access your computer it is either blocked automatically or you are asked.
The anti-virus and anti-spyware are also easy to use. The spyware scan is usually done in a couple of minutes, but the virus scan can take a few hours.
Both the firewall and virus defenitions are regualrly updated to keep your computer as secure as possible.
It also doesn't really effect the performance of your computer unlike some other security software
I highly recommend this software for protecting your computer.

If you are very much concerned about your computer being safe from viruses and other related threats then Zone Alarm if definitely a best buy to go for.Zone Alarm is a firewall that stops almost everything that comes in and goes out of your computer.It successfully checks the data being transferred for malicious behavior , attached ... viruses, probable threats, spy wares etc. Zone Alarm keep up update every minute for whats happening with you network and you computer. Zone Alarm is more known for its firewall support than its anti virus support. Zone Alarm also has a built in Anti Spy ware unit that keeps scanning you system for spy ware. There is a Vector live monitor unit that keeps scanning your system for viruses and probable behavior of viruses.
Zone Alarm also takes care of the programs that you are using.It ensures that the programs don't start to get unstable. It continuously monitors the programs for the rights they hold over a file so that the files can be protected from misuse.
Well but there is a suggestion : Zone Alarm drags your system a bit slow.This happens because of its live monitoring system that eats CPU. Thought it makes it a bit slow but its worth installing if you have a system which has RAM in excess of what i required as a default for Zone Alarm.
