Antiviruses are vital for computers. You can take certain steps to protecting your computer, but at the end of the day, nobodys perfect and you will let viruses in. So what do you do? You go and get a antivirus. But if you have to pay for one, there normally 40£ a year for something like Norton. And then your computer starts crashing, ... Read the complete review

In todays computer orientated society, more and more of us are spending increasing amounts of time on the web whether it be shopping, gaming or communicating through instant messenger services. However, with this increase in usage comes the increase in both cyber related crimes as well as risk to a users system. These are some of the main reasons ... Read the complete review

The best Antivirus you can find for free, but better than other viruses which are expensive but are not going to do the job as Avast is doing it!

I dont have it but a friend has just tried it and has sumountable problems.
Once loaded. he returned again to reboot the computer:
Slow startup, no broadband access, cannot unload it because their is no uninstall file, cannot access control panel to unload and cannot access "Restore"
He has asked my help and can varify these points - where from here??
I would avoid at all costs unless somebody can give a workaround.

I always thought that AVG was the best free home anti-virus software about, until now that is!! I have been using Avast Home edition for about 6 months now and can honestly say it knocks spots off AVG. The whole application itself seems a lot more simplistic and is easy to use. Avast is totally free for home use as they have a commercial ... Read the complete review

For years I relied on AVG 7.5 for my anti-virus and was very pleased with it but after the release of version 8 which was slow, buggy and did very little to protect my PC I needed to look round for better free anti-virus software and after reading many good reviews I decided to try Avast. I was surprised at how fully featured Avast was ... Read the complete review

When you spend as much time on the Internet as I do then you really do need to have an efficient anti-virus software programme, as there are literally thousands of unscrupulous sites and unscrupulous persons out there in cyber space who are simply waiting for the opportunity to infect your poor wee hard drives with all sorts of nasty wee viruses ... Up until recently I was a faithful and dedicated user of Mcafee Internet Security. That is, until I started running into problems with it. My computer, even after reinstalling Windows, was repeatedly becoming infected with the same three trojans, namely Zlob, Fakealert and Vapsup. As Mcafee was no longer doing it's job, despite being ... Read the complete review

this is one anti virus software that you wont regret getting,it is very easy to install and did not give me any compatibility issues on my windows xp,it may not have the slickest look when you open it up on your pc but who cares if it gets the job done especially since you are not paying for it and it gets to clear stuff that even some of your ... ABSOLUTELY, THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS ever!!!! I had unfortunately received a virus known as "Spy-quake" or something like that! Unfortunately this reduced my laptop to nothing! none of my virus protection could fight it, not even Norton!!! Avast was downloaded and Bingo! It got rid of it! Amazingly simple to use and one of my favourite ... Read the complete review

I have been having quandries about Anti Virus software, because my Norton software was fighting with my AOL software, and in the end neither worked correctly. I know that Norton have a good reputation, although since having XP and being able to see clearly what space was used by which program, I thought that not only was Norton a little too greedy ... If you have read my review of my experiences of AVG Antivirus, especially Version 7, you will know that all did not go smoothly. I particularly had problems with old machines which didn't have a lot of memory. This was a surprise because I never had a moments trouble with the previous release and was happy to recommend it. As, from AVG7, you ... Read the complete review
