AVG has come a long way over the years and can now compete with the internet security giants such as Kaspersky and Norton that are common household names.
The obvious advantage to "AVG Internet Security 2013" before you even get to whats on offer, is it's 4 user / 2 year license. This is above the average 3 user / 1 year license that most similar software offers, therefore offers good value from the onset for anyone with multiple computers to protect.
The software comes with a range of features designed and developed to keep you and your computers safe. Everything you would expect such as anti virus, anti malware, anti spyware, anti-spam and a firewall cover the basics while AVG's "do not track" and "WiFi protection" further enhance your protection.
Also included is free 24/7 support, and a game mode for when your want to be safe but don't want to be disturbed. The only thing missing that I would have liked to have seen included is an virtual keyboard to enter your passwords and other personal data online securely.
Installing the program was easy, quick and problem free. Remember to deselect the options of installing browser toolbars during set-up if you don't want them. If your running a previous version of AVG I would recommend uninstalling it through control panel before installing this latest suite as I know don't doing this have caused problems in the past.
The user interface was nice and simple with everything on show, without the need to wave through dozens of menus or options to preform simple tasks. Again using the program was simple and straightforward.
Having the program running in the background doesn't seem to dent system resources or slow down your system in the slightest, I even have AVG running on a netbook. Even during a full scan the effect is minimal and far less than you would expect from other more resource intensive Internet Security Suites.
While I'm commented that the 4 user / 2 year license is good value, I would have liked to have seen a "cheaper" version perhaps 2 user / 1 year license for those of us who still only have one computer to protect.
AVG started as a freeware anti-virus program many years ago, and while this is still on offer for those of you after a stand alone produce, this Internet Security Suite offers you so much more. If your in doubt or want to try before you buy remember that you can also download and install a one month trial. Other wise there isn't much to fault here, "AVG Internet Security Suite 2013" is well worth considering.
