Advantages: can be got for free. a very good all round package

Disadvantages: causes the computer to run very slow

this is a very good virus protector for most home computers and for any computers that are not connected to the internet. it allows regular updates which can be done either daily or by a set schedule so that you are constantly protected from new virus's. it also give you an AVG toolbar for your google search engine which checks pages before you view them and warns you if it feels they are unsafe or are known to contain virus's. the main problem with this anti-virus software is that it slows down the computer dramatically during updates and scans. i would recomend only doing updates and scans when you are not using the computer otherwise it can take a long time to complete. also you can get this protection for free, although it will not be as effecient and have as many features as the proffesional paid package. It is however still very good if you do not use the internet very often and do not want to pay for the full package.
