      really perfect (free!!!) spam filter

I am a Thunderbird mail client user and some day I was tiered of all those spam mails still coming in through Thunderbird's built in filter. So I searched the Web for some spam filtering software and I found out that the freeware (!!!) K9 could be the ultimate solution... The first three days K9 had to learn a lot, but I have to say that it's an excellent student. K9 has also a filter feature and I use this only for 'Casino' related spam mail. Now these mails too stay 100% out off my Inbox! Today I use K9 100 days and the other 97 days of use I had to correct just about 10 other mails, of which K9 thought it was spam, while it was not... If you are also tiered of all those daily spam and you are looking for a good peace of software, please listen: Give it a try and after some days you will see the results and you'll be another happy K9-user, I am sure! Also (or even) when you are a Thunderbird user.

      good idea bad execution

K9 installed like a dream. I ran the installer program and if effortlessly integrated with my system - Silly me to think that it would be easy to configure and have it working to rid me of my spam terrors.

K9 looks slick and seems to have interesting features, but unless you are the author of the program, all this is a mystery. K9's main flaw is that there is that it treats the user like they should have a clue - which I'm sure I do as I've written a few shareware programs myself, and have fallen into the K9 mode of let the user beware - if there was some kind of splash screen and a wizard, I'm sure this program would be a smash.

      until then... dont bother.
