After being let down by previous anti-virus software during an upgrade I found myself with a machine full of malware (somewhere in the region of 190 items found). The new upgrade for my old anti-virus would get halfway through a scan before crashing. I thought I was going to have to do a complete system reset in order to get rid of all the malware. But then I found malwarebytes, another of the free downloadable anti-viruses. Malwarebytes was not only able to finish a system scan without crashing and find every single piece of malware on my system, but it was also able to remove them. Every single piece. I redid the scans three times to makes sure. ... Read the complete review

As far as computers go- I know what I know- if you start getting technical with me- my eyes glaze over and my brain goes fuzzy. So what I am about to tell you does not need IT expertise. When I switched the computer on and had pop ups jumping up all over the place telling me I had a visiting Trojan- I did not have a clue what to do. I had installed antivirus software, I had a firewall and yet this trojan had invaded my system- and as fast as I got rid of a pop up another one appeared. This has got to be one of the best out there i have ever come across yet. Verry fast at updating and doing scans on you computer. Best thing about this is its also free. This will indeed detect them unwanted viruses malware spyware Trojans hijackers keylogers and many other forums of viruses that is a threat to your system. It also has a upgrade feature on it for real time protection but i have to say its not really needed. For your own security i would at least do one scan a day to be secure on your system and to also check for updates as viruses malware and other formats of virus come out every few min. The internet is a big place to ... Read the complete review

Malwarebytes comes in two versions, the paid for version (which to date is available for £18.97) and the free version. In the paid for version the main difference is that it offers you "real time" protection, which will block you from system intrusions BEFORE they can do significant damage. Installation is easy and straightforward, and after downloading, the software opens up with an interface that is plain but easy to understand. There are 9 tabs consisting of scanner (which gives you the option of quick or full scans). Then there are the "protection", "update", "quarantine", "logs", ... Read the complete review

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Another brilliant freebie which can be found at www.download.com and can help protect your PC from malicious crap intent on ruining your computing experience. It is a small program with a lot of muscle... *WHAT DOES IT OFFER..? When you open the program it is a simple looking home page offering many easy options which are... 1) SCANNER... giving you the choice of a 'quick scan', which scans your PC for the most common 'malware' or there's the 'Full Scan' which will scan your entire PC and does take a little time to perform, depending on what is on your system. Any offending 'bugs' will ... Read the complete review
