Advantages: It works and believe me many, many of them don't

Disadvantages: I didn't find it sooner

As far as computers go- I know what I know- if you start getting technical with me- my eyes glaze over and my brain goes fuzzy. So what I am about to tell you does not need IT expertise.

When I switched the computer on and had pop ups jumping up all over the place telling me I had a visiting Trojan- I did not have a clue what to do. I had installed antivirus software, I had a firewall and yet this trojan had invaded my system- and as fast as I got rid of a pop up another one appeared. I was sure I was going to have to pack up my pc and take it to the experts.

But, as I hadn't had breakfast or showered- I chose not to dash out straight away but decided instead to have a go at sorting it myself- I mean I couldn't make it any worse surely?

I looked onto the internet for tools that would remove the trojan- which continued to drive me batty. I found loads and each and everyone was downloaded, then deleted when it didn't work. Well that is not strictly true- they all worked in detecting the problem existed, but either weren't able to get rid of them or alleged that they could if I got my credit card out.

Fast forward two and a half hours, (still no shower or breakfast), and I am sure over 5000 pop ups later- I came across Malwarebytes Antimalware- it had a free download that claimed to be able to sort out the problem -(like I hadn't heard that before!?).

I downloaded and it scanned my pc- this took about 45 minutes and when it finished I was told to close down any applications and click to get rid of the infections, and restart my pc.

So I did, and much to my delight and surprise, my trojan visitor was gone.

If only I had known of this download earlier- but now you do- so if you make a note of one thing you read today- make a note of this download- because sadly I am sure one day you will be very very glad you did.

As I said at the beginning of my review, I am not an IT expert- so I cannot write reams of specialist details, I wouldn't know how- but the only important info as far as I am concerned about this software is that it is easy and it works.
