Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2007

I was given Norton Anti Virus and i though oh good this will be good and better then AVG (the free edition) which i was using. Unfortunately it wasn't in my experience. I had always found AVG to be quite a resource hog and found that it used alot of CPU to start up every time i logged in to my pc and i was hoping that Norton would fix this issue although i found it to be much worse and cause everything to be alot slower from starting the pc to opening programs, files and even logging off. I believe that norton anti-virus really isnt the best you can get for your money. i bought this from my local computer superstore roughly 2 months ago, and i can honestly say il never buy norton again. it takes way too much computer memory and can slow down your system a hell of alot! not only this, but it doesnt always install correctly and it's also pretty useless. it hasnt picked up a single spyware or virus on my computer since i bought it, yet a free anti-spyware software i got included in my google package picks up 20-30 infections a week! i had to get some live assistance when i first installed norton because a component didnt install correctly. ...  Read the complete review

i got the free trial on a new computer and i wished i hadnt activated it all the virus i have found have not been detected by norton. The functionality is poor and the customer care is poor... The Scans can take up to 5 hours in which it uses all of my cpu and ram therefore rendering my computer useless until it is finished. i suppose the program works bes on an apple com with terbytes of storage as i've found on two windows OS's that the use is slow and not effective. however the anti phishing filter is a very useful sub applicant as it can protect you from website trying to get your information. overall i would not recommend Norton as it doesnt work ...  Read the complete review

I first installed Norton AntiVirus onto my computer about a year ago. It was part of a special discounted package which came with my Tiscali Broadband and to be honest I really wish I hadn't bothered. After reading other reviews on AntiVirus software perhaps I should have done this before purchasing Norton I discovered that there is a number of people that have problems with this Software package.
