ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2009 now combines its own award winning firewall with Kaspersky's own award-winning virus scanner that on paper at least, seems to be the perfect combination of high level protection demanded by the consumer.Also is included a spyware scanner, identity theft protection, anti spam, parental controls and much more, which when combined seems to offer a pretty substantial combination of high level protection.
Installation is fast and easy and previous users will notice a refreshing and different interface to previous versions of this product.After installing the product you'll find a "One Click" solution button on the main page that will walk you through such things as updates, scans and other tweaks that you may be interested in.
Scans take a little longer than other products, but in general the results were pretty good. It uses a light footprint that does not slow your pc down during scanning or whatever it is doing which is a godsend, especially for people with a computer which might not have high specifications.
It is worth pointing out here that the included Kaspersky virus scanner consistently scored high marks in Virus Bulletins extensive tests and was given its VB100percent award which basically means that it is a software award for detecting and cleaning all current active threats.The integrated firewall is also up there with the best of them so ZoneAlarm certainly seems to tick all the boxes security wise atleast.
Despite this it is not a perfect suite of protection by any means. The suite lacks any "secure browsing" options which may render you vulnerable to key loggers, phishing sites and other online threats.
ZoneAlarm is a fair bit cheaper however than similar products and has a good level of protection although there are a lot of suites out there that offer you a lot more.
