Bassett's On The Go Vitamins
Advantages: Kept me a bit healthier than normal...
Disadvantages: Taste might not be for everyone...
In my training I spend a lot of time on and off different children's wards; and well sick kids tends to mean I catch whatever they have had or do have, which in the past two and a bit years has left me quite ill on occasions. So before placement this time I decided that I needed something that would give me a bit of help, considering my immune system has been a bit shocking in the past and I have picked up every bug going including horrendous colds... So my plan for placement this time was to try and keep my immune system up since I was going to looking after some really ill children, didn't want to pass anything on to them either!

These vitamins claim to be able to give you a boost to your immune system by providing you with essential vitamins to help you, including vitamin C. They also are chewy, so give you the bonus of being able to take them on the go so no need to stop and take water with them...

I'm going to say yes to that question, but my only point about these that drives me mad is that there are only 15 vitamins in a tub of them - now the tub I'll give them this, it's small but it's still only three quarters full if that with the 15 in. I could easily get 20 vitamins in there, and give us all a bit more for our money. Now I'm not complaining, that for £2 it's not good valued really considering they are actually quite handy, but it's like a packet of walkers crisps, you always feel with a little bit less air you'd get a bit more for your money.
The vitamins actually remind me of fruit gums, they look like them but they are nowhere near as hard thankfully, they don't take your teeth out when you go to chew on them. Thing is they look like they should be blackcurrant rather than pomegranate and raspberry. By no means do they taste bad though, I was a bit dubious about the flavour combination when I first bought them, but I was surprised actually - because it's a decent flavour, not what I'd have chosen for them but I'll take them nonetheless. The only thing with them is that they leave a bit of a taste in your mouth, so I'd advise having a quick drink after taking it else you've got a lovely pomegranate taste in your mouth - unless you like pomegranates of course!
I'm going to be really quite positive about how well these vitamins work, because everyone around me at the time I had been using these for a week or so, had been having colds and sniffles for a while and I was quite happily bumbling along with nothing wrong with me. I am normally the first one to come down with a cold if someone around me has one, so I think it made a huge difference to me really. I did have a week or so where I didn't take these vitamins, and I managed to catch my boyfriend's cold and cough, which well he should have kept. So decided to buy some more and start taking them again - and low and behold after my cough showing no signs of letting up a week or so later, I'm not waking myself up in the middle of the night choking... Might just be coincidental, or a placebo effect - but I genuinely do feel better for taking them!

I get mine from Boots, because they are the cheapest at £1.99 a tub - but Superdrug and Wilkinsons I have also seen do them, but they are over £2 a tub - so if you want the immunity ones or either of the other two varieties, pop to Boots and get them. They also do Vitality ones that are to keep your energy levels up, and Maintain ones that ensure mental stability and help you to keep essential vitamins from your food. Either way if you are in need of a boost give one of them a try!
Summary: Great vitamin, not too pricey, give them a go!
