Seven Seas Haliborange Kids Mulitvitamin Fruit Softies
Advantages: Gives children essential vitamins
Although Little Miss does have a very varied and I like to think, balanced diet, I also like to ensure that she does get all of her vitamins and so we have got into the habit of vitamin taking.
WHAT ARE THEY?...
These are basically developed for children age 3 to 12 years and will apparently provide vitamins to help to promote healthy growth and development
They contain several vitamins: Vitamin A to promote healthy eyes; B Vitamins which contribute to the release of energy from food; Vitamin C to help the immune system; Vitamin D to aid the absorption of calcium; Vitamin E to protect body tissue and promote good health.
With these vitamins providing at least 50% and sometimes 100% of the RDA then I can be sure that she is getting all of the vitamins she needs.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The vitamins come packaged in a plastic bottle with a screw on/off lid. There are 30 chewy vitamin fruit shapes in total so these should last about a month. When I screw off the lid I am faced with one of those foil/paper coverings which have to be poked open but this is quite easily done.
The vitamin chews themselves are red and feel soft with no discernible smell, and they do vaguely resemble strawberries. They are very soft to the touch and can be squashed; this is quite handy since they are supposed to be chewed. Little Miss found them quite strange to start with but soon got used to the amount of chewing required before they could be swallowed. I have tried them and whilst they may look similar to a strawberry, being red and strawberry shaped, this is where the resemblance ends. They do not taste like strawberries and don't even taste vaguely sweet. Instead they are rather bland and tasteless.
The vitamins should be taken one a day and should be chewed then swallowed. As said before they do take a lot of chewing but Little Miss assures me they are not especially unpleasant. They have been developed for children aged 3 to 12 years but they can also be taken by adults (also one a day)
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
The vitamins are widely available online from various stores and also from supermarkets and chemists and cost around £4 for 30 chewy vitamins.
I have no idea if these really work but psychologically, I do like Little Miss to take vitamins, and she is happy to take one a day so for this they are worth it. They are easy enough to take and reasonably priced for this trusted make.
For anyone who wants their children to take vitamins, I would recommend these.
