Berocca Effervescent Tablets
Advantages: Pleasant tasting, good source of vitamins, nicely packaged
Berocca- does it live up to the claim, you, but on a good day?
I had been feeling fatigued and lethargic and so rather than pop down to the doctors to bother them once again I decided that it must be due to lack of vitamins so off I popped to Boots to buy some trusty Berocca.
I tend to only use when I am at work, though reading the packaging you can use every day if you so wish!
Berocca provides more than your Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) (in some cases 860% of requirements!) for Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid as well as providing some of your RDA for Calcium (12%) Magnesium (32%) and Zinc (60%) - so on the days I take Berocca I know I am covered for most of my vitamin requirements!
Large, very orange and fruity smelling tablets that are stored within a tubular packet which is easy to carry round!
I tend to pour myself a cup of cold water and then drop the tablet in. I leave for 5 minutes, I never stir (as we never seem to have spoons at work) and although there is sometime some residue in the bottom of the glass I never get that powdery feeling in my mouth like I have been chewing chalk.
I tend to have mine quite strong as mentioned above, and it really is quite an alarming, vivid orange colour which is somewhat disconcerting when drinking, which is why I tend to drink in a cup rather than a see through glass!
As I also leave for 5 minutes I find that the fizz has generally gone out the drink - kind of like a flat bottle of lemonade
The only way to put this is BRIGHT ORANGE WEE! Which, apparently, is perfectly normal, your body will take all it needs out of the drink and simply "dump" the rest. Which to be honest is a relief to know, as I am not entirely sure that it's a good thing that you are having 793% of your RDA for vitamin C!
Overall, I have been feeling the benefits of taking Berocca, it has made me less lethargic in the day and I do feel as though I am getting my daily dose of vitamins, which all in all has to be a good thing. My main grumble is the price - I originally bought on special offer and to be honest if they weren't on special offer again I don't think I'd bother!
Summary: Good - but I'd wait until they were on offer before bothering to buy again
