Botanic Choice Sweet Almond Essential Oil
Advantages: non-greasy,natural,moistu rising, doesn't make you look oily, light and nice texture
Disadvantages: I can't actually think of any!
I bought this sweet almond oil because I love to use natural oils on my hair and skin and I spotted this for a good price so I decided to order it.
This has a very light and pleasant, slightly nutty scent. It isn't a strong smell which is great because sometimes some strong smells can start annoying me, especially if they're on my skin all day.
When it came to my home, I was excited to try it to see what it was like. I tested it by pouring a little bit out into my hand and rubbing it into my arms where I had dry skin. I love the consistancy of this, it is very light. It isn't gloopy or heavy at all and the texture is quite thin, it's the opposite texture of olive oil. Because it's so light, it doesn't make my skin or hair sticky when I apply it. It does add a subtle sheen though, it doesn't just vanish or instantly absorb. It does absorb a lot faster than other oils though, it sinks into the skin instead of leaving a thick and sticky layer of oil.
I absolutely love this for my hair, it doesn't make my hair look greasy or oily, it just adds a light sheen to it. My hair is long and wavy-curly and prone to dryness. I also have damaged and dry ends so I'm always on the lookout for new ways to moisturise my hair. It's even better if they are natural products like this sweet almond oil. I apply this to my hair by gliding a small amount through the mid-lengths and ends of my hair while my hair is damp after washing it. When it dries, it feels very smooth and looks shiny but not oily or greasy at all! The thin and light layer of oil stays for a little while but it doesn't give that wet, oil slick look, just a nice shine. It makes my hair feel very, very soft and I really love the effects. My usual hairstyle is just my natural curls/waves which I try to define and make them stand out more. Luckily, this oil doesn't weight my hair down or drag my curls out like some heavier oils and products. It conditions my hair nicely and also gets rid of any frizz. I think it protects my hair from the elements too when I go out with this oil on my hair. It definitely adds 'slip' to my hair, which makes it harder to tangle and keeps my hair looking smooth and nice. I also sometimes apply this to dry hair, kind of like a serum. When my hair is dry and not damp, I only use a couple of drops. I start with one drop and see how it looks before using another drop, because this is an oil I like to be careful to make sure it doesn't make my hair look oily. When the hair is dry, it is more likely that an oil will make it look greasy so I need less of this when I use it on dry hair.
The other way I like to use this sweet almond oil is on my skin. Because of the light texture, I can apply a bit of this to my face to moisturise it and make my skin feel soft. It doesn't clog my pores at all so it doesn't cause spots, this is probably because it's a thin and non greasy oil. In fact, this oil helps to fade the little red marks that I had from spots and evened my skin tone.
I like to use this on my nails, hands and cuticles too, for the same reasons as the skin and hair really. It's just a lovely, light but moisturising and hydrating oil. It makes my skin feel soft and smooth and makes it look great!
I definitely recommend this, I really love this oil. It's natural, non-greasy and moisturising. It leaves my skin and hair soft and smooth and looking great! There isn't much else to say about this, it's just a really lovely oil with a few different uses and I highly recommend it!
Summary: A lovely and light oil, a multi-purpose beauty product!
