Tesco Chewable Vitamin C
Advantages: Good price, nice flavour
When I was growing up and in my teens, my Mum always gave us a chewable vitamin C each morning before we left for school, to help stave off colds etc as much as possible. Now, obviously it doesn't make you immune from getting a cold, but I do believe that it has helped me over the years to avoid some colds that I have come in contact with. When I left home, I always bought my Vitamin C's in Boots, but recently I noticed Tesco had their own range of chewable vitamin C on a 3 for 2 vitamin offer and I thought it was worth a try as they worked out cheaper than the Boots counterparts.
The Tesco range of chewable vitamin C come in various size containers. I bought the container with 30 vitamin tablets costing 72p, which at 3 for 2 works out pretty cheap. Obviously you can then buy larger containers but as you buy larger containers the amount of vitamin C increases as well. I have 200mg strength chewable tablets in my 30 container, but if you purchase a container with 90 capsules, you get 500mg strength tablets. I am happy to take the lesser strength tablets, as I do eat a reasonably good amount of fruit and vegetables so I am only using these to give a little boost rather than make up for a lack of Vitamin C in my diet.
Vitamin C tables are supposed to aid your immune system and provide antioxidant support. Although as a teacher, over the years I have built up quite a good immunity towards the usual vomiting bugs (touch wood!) I never escape having at least one or two bad colds between Autumn and early Spring, but I do believe I would pick up more if it weren't for me topping up my Vitamin C level each day, as some of my colleagues who don't take this supplement, suffer more colds and flus that I do.
I much prefer the fact that these vitamins are chewable as I am not a great one for swallowing tablets. These tablets can be sucked or chewed and they are very pleasant to taste, with a fruity flavour so they are an easy thing to put in your mouth before you head out to work in the morning, as you can chew it on the way.
All in all, I am perfectly happy with these Vitamin C tablets from Tesco, and as long as the 3 for 2 remains, I will happily purchase these over the likes of the more expensive Boots range. THese taste very pleasant and I do believe they do help me avoid a large number of colds by building up my immunity. I would recommend these to anyone as a means of topping up your immunity to the usual winter colds and flus.
Summary: A good priced vitamin
