I was told by my midwife, as I would imagine most are, to take a pregnancy multivitamin to make sure baby has a good start in there - absolutely fine and I took this advice and bought some Pregnacare tablets. I suffered with really bad morning sickness, hanging over the toilet at most times in the day, mostly in the evenings. I was lucky in that I managed to fight off most of the sickness but I noticed something...when I accidentally forgot to take my Pregnacare for two days (I was just past the 12 week mark at this point so I was ok in terms of folic acid etc) I noticed my sickness significantly reduce. I literally didn't seem to have any whatsoever! I didn't make a link between the two at first, it was only when I took a tablet before bed after missing it for two days that I noticed a massive difference - the night I took the Pregnacare I was literally hanging over the side of my bed with a washing up bowl and spent two hours like this before I went to sleep. I didn't take my Pregnacare the next day, sensing that maybe it was related, and lo and behold, no sickness again.

I googled this to see whether taking Pregnacare can actually affect your sickness etc and apparently there is a lot of iron in Pregnacare and this can make you feel very sick/make you sick.

I switched to a boots own brand for a week and still felt slightly nauseous but no where near as bad as on the Pregnacare. I've stopped taking pregnancy vitamins altogether now because they just don't agree with me.

Pregnacare are great for getting your vital vitamins but I have a stack of separate vitamins at home that don't make me feel sick and do the same job. I would say if you are suffering really badly from morning sickness and are taking Pregnacare, try giving it a break or switching to a different brand because that could be what is causing it!

I also find Pregnacare really, really expensive - they don't need to sell it for that price and it annoys me that they do when you can get healthy start vitamins from your midwife for free/75p!!!

Not overly impressed with Pregnacare price and side effects and won't be taking them again.

If you find you have no problem with them then great but I know I'm not the only one out there!
