Advantages: Good value for money quite trendy good sound quality
Disadvantages: Cable not long enough for my liking may need to update soundcard drivers
I am a real fan of VoIP calling and a year ago was looking to replace my VoIP handset
After having a look at Amazon and reading some of the reviews I came across the Freecom Internet Phone.
If you are looking for a good value for money internet phone that doesn't have any special abilities apart from plug the phone in and start calling then this is your product. My Father is a Skype user but apart from that he isn't technical coming from a generation who managed to survive without the microchip for most of his life but has totally got to grips with ths phone
The phone is plug and play which means when you want to make a call you just plug it into your USB socket dial using your VoIP software and away you go.
I have tested this product on a number of computers and different broadband connections and I am pleased to say that I have had no major issues and this product has become a vital piece of my Skype calling when I call landlines.
The colour of the handset is quite striking and the build quality is pretty good as the price is so cheap
The cable isn't very long but long enough to sit at your computer If you could walk around the room talking it would be great but at this price you cant complain.
In conclusion The product has been made to a high standard with good call quality which after using this product for a while now I have no issues with its functionality or build quality
I did have a small issue f you didn't remove the product from your sound card you couldn't get any sound from your speakers even if you were watching a film the sound would be played through the handset
After checking the online forums I updated my sound card drivers and this seemed to do the tick and I haven't had the same problem since which is now over six months ago.
Summary: Ths VOIP handset works well does everything it says on the box worth a look
