The Philips VOIP3211S seemed like a bargain when I bought it six months ago and, in all honesty, it WAS!!
I was able to set up the phone and get connected using Skype very quickly and efficiently.
The only problem that I encountered was a conflict between my PC's speakers and using the handset to hear the person on the other end of the line. This was quickly remedied by Skype's voluminous help files.
Two major features of this phone are that it has a very clear screen and the buttons are large for people, like me, with rather large fingers!
The call quality is very good, however, when calling mobiles from this phone, using Skype, the quality can suffer a little (i.e. a bit of hissing and crackling on the line).
Unfortunately, I cannot comment on how this phone fairs when using it for 'normal' landline calls. However, I would suggest that if it works as well as it does for making calls over the Internet, then, for the price, it's a good quality product.
I was given one of these as a present from a familymember because I make quite alot of internet calls. Because of the brand, I had high expecation for this product and I was not dissapointed. I found the call quality excellent and it was easy to install and set up. It does not have a colour screen but then again a colour screen is the last thing one would look for in a phone. For £5 extra you can get the twinset which would be ideal if you have a large family.
I can also say that this produt is very durable as it has endurd one entire month of me dropping it on a daily basis, (very useful if you have young ones or clumpy teenagers).
I would highly recommend this product although the price is a bit steeper than others because I think it is worth the extra cash.
