My last Bosch went to a friend due to a house move but it seems to me the best make of machine that I have ever had.
The measurements for this machine which can slide under a counter are: (H X W X D): 85 x 60 x 59 cm. My machine is white and is rated under the energy efficiency scheme as 'B'.
I find that I can squeeze a lot into a single load - for example a couple of towels and a week's worth of clothes for two. When there are more of us I need more loads, and sheets will usually need a separate wash, as they won't all fit in together.
Imagine when you're in a rush to leave the house but the autumn sun is low, and out for a short duration, so you feel you have to stay in for the hour plus of cycle. Well, you don't have to with this machine. You get it all done in fifteen minutes, and you know what, my clothes come out clean and I can get on with my day.
If you have miscalculated your cottons and time is of the essence - no problem - just press the 'quick' button and you've knocked off some cycle time. The button can be found directly under the timer (red numbers).
'Easy Care' sorts out white and more delicate clothes without issue. There's an eco wash for cottons which will set the machine at a lower temperature without you needing to select the environmentally friendly temperature.
I can even use sportswear for my gym clothes but I don't have another to warrant a load just for this.
If you have lazy day and can't be bothered to separate delicates, wools and cottons I have discovered they all survive on a low temperature wash and then I don't need to waste water and electricity on several washes.
It even has a cycle for removing fluff on clothes. I tried it once and found that my clothes looked suitable de-fluffed. I imagine winter jumpers would benefit from this. It's probably a bit of a gimmick!
This machine is great for people who can't hang around or have load after load to put in. You can override the automatic settings and decide how long you want it to be on 'spin' for and also chose the temperature - the lower the better for the environment.
This Bosch does not vibrate and jump across the floor - has happened with other machines. The sound is not terribly loud either so more boxes ticked for my requirements.
There is a tumble dryer function but I have chosen not to use this. I like to get my clothes on the washing line, for that fresh air smell, even if they don't dry fully. I might use the tumble dryer, for towels in winter, if the need arises. I've checked other reviews and can find no complaints on the tumble dryer. It's certainly good to have the two main functions combined in one machine. The powder/liquid drawer is top front on the left. Just turn the dial and press the start button in the top right-hand corner.
There is a child lock on the machine but you could just warn them about the monster:
I still have a sock monster that lives in every washing machine that comes my way. Put even numbers of socks in and odd numbers sometimes come out!
Bosch is not a cheap make and I spent well over £500 for this machine and a similar price for my previous one. However, they are reliable machines and I would highly recommend.
Currently Bosch have a £50 - £100 cashback scheme so do enquire before parting with your hard-earned cash. I've only owned this since the summer but I am very satisfied.
Most important points are that it is easy to use, cleans well, and is reliable. Gosh Bosch - you are good!
