Very impressed so far, if anything changes ill update the review

We bought this dryer from Littlewoods around 3 months ago. We went 2 months without one, and we would be lost without it! Because our place is all on one floor we really didnt want to purchase both a washer and a dryer as serperates. One we do not have the space and two, It just seems easier to have one machine. You could look at it in 2 ways, its good because you only have one machine to go wrong, or the other way is if it does break down you lose both your washer and dryer... washing: The washing there times are adequate, and you have various options for washing. There is an option for wool. synthetics, cotton, fast wash, and there is also a pump out option which you use before you switch to drying. Word of warning!: I thought I would please my girlfriend by washing her UGG boots for her while she was away. Left the machine washing and went to bed.... Well I woke up the following morning and went to the machine thinking they were going to be all soft, fluffy and nunarish again! erm how wrong i was. What i did not realise was that i left it on the setting to switch to dry for 2 hours after it washed them.... The UGGs were still roasting hot when i took them out, the soles had more less melted and the toes bent down, and all the wool inside was fried and rough. In nicer words than i said at the time (oh whoops a daisy!)... I hid the boots for 4 weeks until i admitted guilt and took the wrath. Needless to say she now has 2 new pairs... So please be warned!! Drying: There are 3 drying options: Hang dry (wardrobe) Ironing dry Airing cupboard The best option by far is the hang dry, the clothes come out pretty hot, hang them up on the rail and they are usually dry overnight, no ironing required - bonus! I have read many reviews of washer dryers before i bought one, as this is not the cheapest by any means. However i really rate this machine and would buy another one as long as this one lasts a few years. Just remember, careful with the uGG boots!

A great washing machine, but drying poor

I have had this washer/dryer for just over a year now and wanted to combine a washer/dryer to save space. It is really good as a washing machine. My clothes always smell fresh, even after they've been in the machine for several hours while I've been out at work. It is a reasonably quiet and a nice looking machine. I find the quick wash at 30 degrees, which lasts around half an hour, is great if you're in a rush or for items that may shrink at a higher temperature. I also tend to use the quick wash at 60 degrees, which is around a one hour cycle and gets things really clean. However, the drying aspect of this machine I find quite poor. It is okay for lightweight items, such as pillow cases and underwear, but I found it absolutely impossible to get jeans dry. You also have a minimum dry time of one hour, which is quite restricting.

Go for the model down from this where you can control the dryer - my sister did!

Admittedly I have the white one but that makes no diference operation. As always fromHotpoin good product styling, combined washer / dryer makes a for a space saving solution. Good variety of programmes, as you turn the dial the temperature displays on the LCD, then after a second the programme duration - some of the programmes last 2 hours or abit over, now for the odd hard boiled item I don't mind but otherwise the 30 degree proramme for 35 minutes is fine for a freshen up. As an aside some of the super A rated appliances in terms of energy efficiency have these types of lengthy programmes. Wash quality is good. I feel the dryer isn't as good as myprevious Hotpoint but I don't feel as though I have any control over this one. You cannot manually shutdown the heat - it has to run for at least an hour. it does have half heat and full heat settings and economy washes etc. The washing powder tray does get black but I understand this is a symptomatic problem associated with washing at lower temperatures - easily remedied by a few hot washes. have taken to using the liqi-tabs in the main wash - as washing powder wasn't always taken down from the drawer, do you liquid conditioner in the drawer.
